We're back from this year's WOMAD festival at Charlton Park, a difficult drive through lashing rain. Listening to Bardot State, which Pathaan dropped into my hands at the festival, we managed to get lost in the pitch darkness of the English Countryside but with fine musical accompaniment.
This week on GondwanaSound we bring Radiothons, WOMAD encounters including Victor Deme cooking it up, Beat Boxers and a Modern Mongolian nomad all fired up from the night of hip hop and beat boxing that was WOMAD's SIam tent on Satruday night. Add in some new releases and vintage Nigerian funk - and we have another eclectic GondwanaSound round the world music adventure.
